Deal With Excessive Underarm Perspiration by Minimizing Excessive Sweating

August 15th, 2009

Are you having a tough time dealing with excessive underarm perspiration? You are not the only one having this problem. Millions all over the world go through the embarrassment of bad odor and excessive sweating in the underarms. With a little attention and care it is possible to minimize this problem and lead a normal life without spending huge amounts of money on expensive surgery.

Here are some tips that can help in dealing with excessive underarm perspiration:

1) Wear loose cotton clothes that allow proper air circulation and evaporation of sweat from the armpits. Synthetic clothes may be impressive and attractive, but these are not best suited for your body.

2) Drink plenty of water and keep your body well hydrated. Sweating happens to cool down your body. If you drink enough water the body will remain cool and hence there will be less sweat.

3) Use an antibacterial soap to wash your armpits. Make sure to wash once in the morning and once before you go to bed. Armpit sweat has proteins and fatty acids which is conducive for bacteria to breed. Bacterial infection causes bad odor.

4) Cut down consumption of sugar, salt and spices. These are items that trigger the sweat glands to open up causing excessive underarm perspiration. By avoiding these foods you will prevent over activity and malfunctioning of sweat glands.

5) Don’t get stressed. Be calm and cool. Avoid getting extremely anxious about anything. Anxiety triggers the sympathetic nervous system and sweat glands to be over active, resulting in excessive sweating. Sympathetic nervous chain controls the signaling to the sweat glands. If the nerves don’t function properly then you may sweat continuously.
