The first warm rays of the sun already made you think of vacation? Summer is a season when we plan changes. Do you want an healthier summer? Would you like to feel younger, healthier, more awake and more confident in yourself? Of course. Here are 6 quick ways to achieving that goal.

1. Do not smoke – The risk of lung cancer or other smoking related diseases is high. In America over 300,000 people each year die from smoking related diseases. Three quarters of all deaths caused by bronchitis are due to smoking.

If you are a smoker you need to stop straight away. If you are around smokers then try and limit your contact. Contrary to what smokers try and claim, second hand smoke is dangerous to your health too.

2. Aloe Vera supplements – Have you tried them yet? You know the people who have, because they are bouncing around the place and they are full of life! Aloe Vera is used in a lot of our common everyday products, due to its amazing health benefits.

For the first time ever, 100% pure Aloe Vera tablets are now available. Because it is in tablet form, it makes it easier to get the health benefits everyday. Reported benefits of Aloe Vera include boosting your immunity, fighting aging, improving digestion, helping with acne and helping you feel more awake and active during the day.

Your glowing skin, smiling exterior and inside healthiness will be a key give away to others that you have started taking Aloe Vera supplements.

3. Enjoy the sun. Moderately – exposure to the sun helps our bodies make vitamin D. Ultraviolet rays from sunlight trigger vitamin D synthesis in the skin, creating vitamin D for our bodies to use. A deficiency in this important vitamin can cause serious health problems, and vitamin D deficiencies are becoming more common than most of us realize.

Also, be careful, prolonged exposure can cause burns or eye damage. Remember to wear sunglasses when you need them, like for driving. Avoid sunbathing between noon and 2:00 during the summer months. The heat will be too high and the sun will be more likely to cause a burn.

4. Get enough sleep at night – Your body repairs itself at night. However being in bed for 13 hours does not guarantee that you had a good nights sleep. To ensure your sleep is good, the temperature of the room should be just below body temperature. The bed clothes should be clean and light and noise should be limited.

Aim for 6-7 hours of good quality sleep per a night and the health benefits will be obvious for all to see. Do not compromise on your sleep and try to keep regular sleeping patterns.

5. Eat healthier – If you provide your body with the correct nutrients and fuel, then other people will notice how much better you look. You will also notice your extra vitality and health. You can start by changing the amount of high sugar snacks in your diet. It is easy to think that a chocolate here and a chocolate there won’t make a difference but it does!

Try to stick to apples, oranges and bananas for your snacks, this ensures you get the 5 fruit and veg you need. This is essential for your body repairing itself and your healthiness.

Another tip would be to eat breakfast. By eating breakfast, you are less likely to snack on sugary and fatty foods later on during the day. Up to 33 per cent of adults in the USA miss breakfast every morning, meaning they may miss out on important nutrients. Many breakfast foods contain significant amounts of vitamins C and D, fiber, calcium and iron.

If you are struggling to eat healthy then you should try vitamins and Aloe Vera supplements as previously mentioned.

6. Realistic exercise plan – You know exercise is important but you do not want to go to the gym – sounds reasonable. We would highly suggest you check out SlimDynamics.com, a free exercise and weight loss site.

Remember, exercise can help reduce your cravings for sugary foods! So do just 10 minutes of exercise per a day and see the health benefits within weeks.

The risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke rises along with the temperature and humidity. Heat illnesses occur when the body’s cooling mechanism becomes overloaded. When the heat starts to rise – slow down. Regardless of your activity level, drink more fluids – your body needs water to prevent dehydration during warm summer days. Stay away from liquids that contain caffeine, alcohol, or large amounts of sugar. Stay indoors or in shaded locations; wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing; and limit your outdoor activity to morning or evening hours when it is cooler outside.

Signals of Heat Emergencies

Heat exhaustion is a milder form of heat-related illness that can develop well after dehydration occurs. Those most prone to heat exhaustion include the elderly, those with high blood pressure, and children. Some symptoms of heat exhaustion include: cool, moist, pale or flushed skin; muscle cramps; heavy perspiring; nausea and sometimes vomiting; weakness; dizziness; dry mouth; and a headache.

Heat stroke is a life-threatening situation. It occurs when the body is unable to regulate its temperature. Heat stroke can occur within 10-15 minutes of the first symptoms. Signs of heat stroke include: very high body temperature (above 103 degrees); hot, dry, red skin; no sweating; nausea; dizziness; confusion, disorientation, hallucinations; or loss of consciousness.

Treatment of Heat Emergencies

If you feel you are suffering from heat exhaustion, it is important to get out of the sun and into a cool place; loosen clothing; drink water/fluids (be sure to avoid caffeine and alcoholic beverages); take a cool shower, bath or sponge bath; and rest.

Heat Stroke is a medical emergency – have someone call for immediate medical assistance while you begin cooling the victim. Get the person to a shaded area; cool him/her rapidly using whatever methods you can (immerse in a tub of cool water, place in a cold shower, spray with cool water from a garden hose); do not give fluids; if convulsions occur, keep the victim from injuring himself; call the hospital emergency room for further instructions if medical assistance is delayed in responding.
